Good, interesting tour. Had to wait half an hour in the blazing sun as we were told to be there half an hour in advance, otherwise you run the risk of not being allowed to join the tour. However, most people arrived later and everyone was on the tour.

The arrival at location was troublesome... it took us more time than expected to arrive to the venue and we lost our slot to enter. The staff Was friendly to reorganize the entry for us, although we had to pay new tickets, but the guided tour was not as expected: the guide was talking and walking slow and the tour was boring and was not progressing. Finally we decided to drop it as it was useless to our purpose of learning and enjoying the place.

Your experience

After you meet your guide at the designated meeting point, you will receive help to access the park. Once you enter, your guide will show you the highlights of the park. The first architectural element of the park that you will see is the two buildings on either side of the gates. The one on the left served as a concierge, with a waiting room and a telephone booth, and the one on the right was the residence of the doorman, hence its name Casa del Guarda, which today is part of the MUHBA (Museum of Barcelona History).

The next highlight of the park will be the staircase that leads one from the entrance to the main area. After the staircase, you will head to the Hypostyle Room, a structure meant to resemble a forest and a space that is supported by 86 Doric columns. The Hypostyle Room supports the Greek Theatre on its roof. From the Greek Theatre, you will be able to soak in panoramic views of Barcelona, and the Sagrada Familia in the distance.

What to bring

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothing as this experience involves a lot of walking.
During the summer months, it is recommended to bring hats/caps to protect from the sun, and water for hydration due to high temperatures.

Accessibility

For visitors with mobility problems, Park Güell offers two free wheelchairs for hire (subject to availability).
The tourist coach car park has three places for people with reduced mobility.

Additional information

Your ticket allows you to skip the 'ticket' line and not the 'security' lines.
All the recognizable and famous portions of Park Güell are located in the Monumental Zone, which includes lots of uphill climbs and stairs.
Access to the Park is regulated to renovate and preserve this portion of the Park.
